These images are of my own personal Moots PsychloX RSL, as first built up with the Cannondale Hollowgram SL crankset.
A variety of camera angles are shown here, to give a solid feel of how the bike actually looks in person.
Moots PsychloX RSL + custom Shimano DuraAce Di2 cable routing + Cannondale Hollowgram SL crankset
This Psychlo XRSL has custom Shimano DuraAce Di2 cable routing holes, so there is only one (1) cable from front to back that is visible, the rear brake cable.
The bike as shown weighs 18.4 pounds, including beefy pedals, Di2 satellite shifter, bottle cages, fully inflated tires, double-thick bar tape and cloth wrap on drive-side chainstay.
Red accents are used on the headset, seatpost collar, and brakes, which happens to match nicely with the red FSA logo on the crankset.
This bike has some limitation for “pure” cyclocross racing:
- The brakes are mini v-brakes, not cantilever brakes. I was far, far more concerned with braking performance (cantilevers are awful) than for mud clearance. I avoid riding in mud.
- I cannot attest to the appropriateness of Shimano DuraAce Di2 shifting in extreme muddy conditions.
- The handlebar is carbon fiber, which is not a good choice if the bike is going to suffer crash impact (use aluminum instead).
- The hand-built wheelset is a racing setup wit some compromises to bring the weight down (e.g. lighter rims and aluminum nipples).
Observe the ovalized (flat) top tube designed for shouldering the bike easily (perhaps not with the water bottle cages installed, but my cycling needs for this bike do not involve cyclocross racing courses.
With the Paris Roubaix Pro 700 X 27C tires, for winter road riding.
