2011/2012 Look 586 — Image Gallery
Images of the bike I tested.
Construction shows first-class workmanship throughout; the carbon needs no paint to look beautiful (note that this is a used and slightly dirty bike, not a shiny new one).
Coming soon.
Whole bike as tested
This is how the bike was configured for my test, see the test bike notes.
The carbon is very nicely done, though I am not a fan of the high gloss finish.
Carbon vs titanium? Frame resilience to damage
Why might you prefer a a top-notch titanium road bike instead of carbon fiber? Ride quality of course, but also the fact that this gouge on the carbon would be unlikely to faze titanium (gouge was from shipping damage).
Drive train
Shimano DuraAce 7900 rankset and 11-28 cassette.
Front end
The stiff Bontrager RXL stem and FSA bar (both aluminum), along with the thin LOOK bar tape proved to be the most uncomfortable ride I had ever experienced.
Never rode anything this uncomfortable before— Bontrager RXL stem and FSA stem, both aluminum. Hands take a beating with this combination.
Seat tube
LOOK demo bikes use the RSP post, but the production bikes for sale use the E-Post, which adds its elastomer comfort. This is a demo bike.
